Halloween

We couldn't quite trick-or-treat yet, but we went to a few parties and Katelyn came to school for the parade. I don't think she realizes people are wearing anything unusual as it is. But she is a little aware that I am putting her in a scratchy dress and trying AGAIN to put a bow in her hair.

Bates Nut Farm

Basically you are nuts if you go there on the weekend. But as long as you are not in any rush and go with the flow of the crowds, its a great place. We had so much fun playing in the pumpkins and I am pretty sure we were the only family smuggling beers onto the hayride. The petting zoo was a hit, but the ponyride was pure torture, had to put in the pics.

Zoooooooooooooooo

This was the first time visiting the World Famous San Diego Zoo in almost 30 years. Sad, but true. Jenn and I bought year passes, so let us know if you are going anytime. We went with our dear Sacramento friends. For Katelyn, nothing compared to the monkeys and she loved to make the monkey sound while walking around. I think she was calling out to them? For me, that baby panda in the tree, 10 feet from us, definitely took the cake. But I really want to go back to see the panther up close, anybody up for it?

Patio Before and After

We added to our backyard this summer. Scott's softball buddy, Jim Bittner, is a general contractor and built us a redwood bar with a BBQ and fridge and a huge shade structure. Most of the new outdoor room was Scott's idea and it has turned out so cool! We have tropical fans, TV and surround sound. Oh yeah, and Scott had to have a kegerator! With new patio furniture, this "room" is now our favorite in the house. Good job Scott!
