Lucky for us, my parents rented a house on Balboa Island for the 3rd year in a row.
One of the best parts of this trips is that it reminds us all of when we would take our family trips here, when we were kids. Balboa Island really brings out the kid in everyone. The chocolate covered bananas, the ferry rides, merry-go-round and funzone, sea lions, castles on the beach, boat rides, and simply just walking around the island with a greeting from everyone you pass, all keep us a little bit younger at heart.

Sophia, Joe and Baby Sammy came down for an afternoon on the beach. Hot dogs and kite flying were the call for the day.

There might have been a few times we made it over to the island bar, The Village Inn.

Then we visited the Easter Bunny at South Coast Plaza. He was a funny little bunny! HE could talk and say your name and he is only 3 feet high! I tried to tell her he was Elmo's friend, but that didn't quite work, so I join the group as usual.

Grand Finale-Newport Harbor Cruise
We rented a duffy to cruise around in for a couple of hours. This has turned into our 2nd Annual booze cruise. Really it is just one big competition. Who can drive better, which kid spills the most drinks, who bets we can make it under that bridge, and who can keep Katelyn on the boat the best.
